Maths Week

Last week was Maths Week and Mrs Fletcher created some slides and challenging maths problems for us to solve. We worked in teams and did really well, achieving a bronze, silver and gold certificate.

We also had two maths olympiad team which we are very proud of. Both teams did really well working under pressure with lots of cheering. Our Team A came runners up so we are super proud of them.

 

Te Tuhi Trip - Story Telling

Storytelling

We went to Te Tuhi to learn about storytelling and how stories can be told in different ways. We first learnt about the history of how stories have been told throughout the years.

First we read a story called "Giraffes can't Dance" and then we did a  roll play to retell the story. After this we went to the art room and created a poster of the story using collage.  These turned out amazing! Well done Room 12 on both your Roll Play and collage. 

Olympic Maths Problem Solving

Room 12 have had a great week 1 of Term 3. We have been learning about the olympics and we had a mini maths Olympic challenge. The children were in 5 teams representing different countries. They had to work as a team to solve maths problems about the olympics.
