ANZAC

 Room 12 started Term 2 learning about ANZAC. We did a scavenger hunt. The children worked with a buddy to read information about ANZAC and complete a puzzle piece. They next coloured their puzzle pieces. We put the puzzle together and displayed it. 

Te Tuhi We Wish You Were Here

The year 4's had an amazing Te Tuhi art session via zoom. We were inspired by the artist Robin White to help us design a portrait of ourselves showing our identity, culture and place we live in.

Endangered Animal Posters

This week one of Year 4's Online Learning Tasks was to research an endangered animal of their choice and create a poster either digitally or a drawing. Here are some of the amazing posters.

Animal Drawings

 During lockdown one of Year 4's activities was to draw different animals. Here are some of the drawings from Room 12. They are amazing!

Animal Masks

Some of the children in Room 12 made animal masks during lockdown and wore them to our zoom meeting. They look awesome!

Maths Week

Last week was Maths Week and Mrs Fletcher created some slides and challenging maths problems for us to solve. We worked in teams and did really well, achieving a bronze, silver and gold certificate.

We also had two maths olympiad team which we are very proud of. Both teams did really well working under pressure with lots of cheering. Our Team A came runners up so we are super proud of them.

 

Te Tuhi Trip - Story Telling

Storytelling

We went to Te Tuhi to learn about storytelling and how stories can be told in different ways. We first learnt about the history of how stories have been told throughout the years.

First we read a story called "Giraffes can't Dance" and then we did a  roll play to retell the story. After this we went to the art room and created a poster of the story using collage.  These turned out amazing! Well done Room 12 on both your Roll Play and collage.
